This project transforms Terminal 1 to meet the needs of modern travelers and revolutionize the guest experience. Built in the early 1960s, the terminal has become less able to accommodate the millions of passengers that it handles each year. When fully completed in 2022, Harvey Milk Terminal 1 will elevate SFO’s standard of providing a world-class, environmentally friendly travel experience and is expected to meet or exceed the award-winning environmental standards of Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 Boarding Area E.


The $2.4 billion project includes:

  • Phased demolition and reconstruction of an operating airport terminal
  • Construction of first  baggage handling individual container system (ICS) in United States
  • design and construction of Harvey Milk Terminal 1’s pre-security concourse
  • a new Boarding Area B (B/A B) with improved passenger circulation and access to its 25 gates, new passenger loading bridges and new concessions
  • a spacious central concourse with an art gallery, food halls showcasing the best in Bay Area fare, and integrated technology to facilitate the passenger journey
  • a new mezzanine with connections to the AirTrain, public transit and the Central Parking Garage
  • convenient new post-security corridors connecting to the International Terminal A gates and Boarding Area C.


Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) - Station Modernization Program

24th St Mission Station is one of the original stations in the BART system. First opened in 1973, the 24th St Mission station now serves riders in the greater Mission District and serves as a transit hub to SFMTA, AC Transit and various local hospital shuttles. As part of the BART Station Modernization program, the 24th St Mission SW Plaza project now meets ADA access needs and provides a safe, open community hub for the neighborhood.


The $4.2 million project includes:

  • Phased demolition and reconstruction of an operating light rail transit station
  • Restoration of safety and access to SW corner of 24th Street and Mission Street corridor with improved patron and transit circulation 
  • Streetscape improvements to improve transit connections with SFMTA and BART
  • Stakeholder coordination efforts with SFDPW, SF Planning Dept, SFMTA and BART, along with local businesses


Genentech

South San Francisco Campus

The K6 program eliminates halogenated hydrocarbon refrigerants from Genentech’s South San Francisco campus while evaluating/implementing site-wide infrastructure improvements to significantly improve the reliability, efficiency, and overall performance of the campus’ utility system. This is Genentech’s approach to lowering its carbon footprint beyond what other market leaders are willing to do.


The $450M project includes:

  • Construction management: Build-out of biotech lab spaces, plant operations, office tenant improvements, and campus-wide green initiative implementation.
  • Reliability engineering: Master data management, equipment commissioning/activation, total cost of ownership evaluation
  • Facilities Management: Liaison to union stationary engineers, process efficiency analysis



SFO Wayfinding

This project involved:

  • Program goals were to implement new wayfinding standards at SFO to enhance the passenger experience.  New wayfinding standards included new digital products, new map design, message layout and hierarchy, location planning, and pictograms.  The program implemented new wayfinding products.
